MTN Foundation Yellopreneur Grant and Loan 2024 for Female Entrepreneurs

The MTN Y’ellopreneur Initiative seeks to contribute to the reduction in women unemployment and advance women development in ‘Entrepreneurship’ through capacity building and access to capital through loans, grants, and advisory support services for long term business sustainability.

The initiative targets Female Entrepreneurs across the country who display passion and commitment to self-employment and run an existing business of two years and above in the areas of; circular economy, manufacturing, processing, agriculture, ICT/digital services, waste management, etc.

The focus is on businesses that source their raw materials locally.

MTN Nigeria Foundation launched a pilot phase of the Y’ellopreneur Initiative in 2022. In Phase One, 4,711 Female Entrepreneurs were trained in the fundamentals of business Management & Development.

This training empowered them to vie for the opportunity to receive up to N2 Million as equipment loan/grants to grow their businesses. Equipment loans of over N94 Million were disbursed to 50 female entrepreneurs. Upon full repayment of the loan, our Y’ellopreneurs will receive 25% of the loan value as grants.

Stages of the Program

Stage 1: Entrepreneurial skills training for 1000 female entrepreneurs

Stage 2: Development and Presentation of Bankable Business plan

Stage 3: Equipment loan support of up to 3 million naira each for 250 female entrepreneurs

Stage 4: Business advisory support services

Stage 5: Seamless loan repayment processes to ensure project sustainability.

ABOUT MTN FOUNDATION

MTN Foundation was established in 2004 to manage CSR initiatives for MTN Nigeria Communications PLC; one of the first corporates in Nigeria to launch such an initiative.

It was commissioned in May 2005 with MTN Nigeria Communication PLC committing up to 1% of its Profit after Tax (PAT) as its main source of funding for projects.

MTN Foundation has invested over NGN23.7 Billion in the 36 states of the federation and FCT. MTN Foundation has over 1,017 project sites across Nigeria with 50 unique projects which spans across 3,319 communities and reached over 31,234,793people.
