The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced the screening date for the 2023/2024 Recruitment.
The Police Recruitment Board has set January 8, 2023, as the starting date for screening eligible applicants for recruitment into the Police Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Nigeria Police Force Head, Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, said in a statement on Thursday that the board met at the corporate headquarters of the Police Service Commission in Jabi, Abuja, and took several decisions in respect of the next stages of the recruitment exercise.
He said; “As of the recruitment portal’s closure earlier this month, 416,270 Nigerian youths were deemed to meet the initial requirements for the next stage of the exercise. This includes 315,065 applicants for General Duty and 101,205 for specialist roles.
“Successful candidates can expect to receive their invitation letters before December 23rd, 2023. This next stage will involve both physical and credentials screening conducted in the applicant’s state of origin.
“They will be required to bring original copies of their certificates, other credentials, and letters of attestation from their Local Government Chairmen or traditional rulers.

“Computer-based testing (CBT) and medical examinations will follow the screening,” Ani stated, adding that “dates for these stages will be announced in due course.”
The statement said further: “Meanwhile, after the closure of the recruitment portal, Kaduna State with 31,117 successful applicants tops the list, followed by Adamawa with 29,848; Benue, 25,346; Borno, 24,854; Katsina, 24,239; and Bauchi, 22,958.
“Other states with high successful applicants are Kano, 21,006; Niger, 17,959; Gombe, 17,493; Yobe, 17,207; Nasarawa, 16,284; Jigawa, 16,007; Taraba, 15,622; Plateau, 15,389; and Kebbi, 12,917.”
It said Anambra State, with 1,141, has the fewest successful applicants nationwide, followed by Ebonyi, with 1,537; Lagos, with 1,775; and Abia, with 2,110.
The statement also warned successful candidates to be wary of fraudsters, stressing that the entire recruitment exercise is free and will be based on merit and performance.

- National Identity Number (NIN) slip
- Recent passport photographs
- Printout of online application confirmation page
- Guarantor’s form
- Original and duplicate copies of credentials;
- O’ Level Result
- Certificate of Origin
- Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age
