Attention! We are thrilled to share the exciting news about the launch of the Charles R. Wall Young African Policy Fellows Program by the African Wildlife Foundation and UN Environment Programme.

Are you a dedicated African aged 20 to 35 with a passion for conservation, particularly in policy engagement? If so, seize this opportunity to contribute to international environmental governance!

Who is Eligible?

Africans living in Africa, aged 20-35, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the conservation sector and a demonstrated commitment to conservation, especially in policy engagement.

Program Details:

15 fellows from diverse backgrounds
9-month learning journey (April to December 2024)
Fully funded program
Virtual workshops monthly
Week-long workshop in Nairobi in June
Participation in an international policy-making conference (IPBES, UN Biodiversity, or UN Climate Change)
Networking opportunities with industry experts

Introduction to biodiversity and contemporary conservation issues
Deep dive into Multilateral Environmental Agreements

Negotiation, adoption, and implementation of agreements at regional and national levels
