Isandla Internship Opportunity 2024 For Young South Africans

Situated in Cape Town, Isandla Institute is a vibrant organization dedicated to fostering integrated, equitable, sustainable, and democratic urban environments. Through pioneering research, knowledge dissemination, dialogue facilitation, institutional support, advocacy efforts, and network engagement, Isandla actively contributes to the advancement and transformation of urban development.

The Isandla Institute has opened up internship positions for post-graduate students to participate in the Backyard Matters Project, a key initiative within the Urban Land Programme.

The successful intern will be given an opportunity to learn in a dynamic and engaged working environment and sharpen their skills in relation to research, administrative/logistical arrangements and/or media communication.

The following tasks are envisaged

1. Research

Gather relevant data and information
Review, summarise, and analyse relevant secondary literature
Write/contribute to knowledge products
Assist with and/or implementing other relevant project tasks

2. Logistics & Administration

Assist with and/or implement logistical tasks related to activities and events (e.g. focus groups, roundtables)
Write minutes of meetings/events
Develop and maintain a database of contacts

3. Media and Communications

Update organizational social media platforms
Disseminate knowledge products
Write/contribute to media outputs (e.g. blog posts, updates)
Assist with and/or implementother relevant media and communications related tasks
