The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation is on the lookout for a dynamic individual to assist in the monitoring and evaluation activities of the Foundation. The objective of this position is to provide support to a newly qualified individual embarking on their career in monitoring and evaluation (M&E)

Internship Objectives

  • Support M&E framework development
    • Assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation framework.
    • Collaborate with M&E Specialist to refine indicators, data collection methods, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Data collection, analysis, and reporting
    • Contribute to the collection of quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, interviews, and other methods.
    • Contribute to data analysis under guidance of M&E Specialist to derive meaningful insights and trends that inform decision-making and programme improvements.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports on programme and project performance.
  • Learning and Development
    • Engage in training sessions and workshops to build skills in monitoring and evaluation, where relevant.
    • Take initiative to learn about new tools, methodologies, and best practices in the field.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Identification with the Foundation’s Vision, Mission, and Ethos
  • Postgraduate (Honours or Master’s) degree in relevant field – e.g., Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, International Development.
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel, Stata)
  • Strong interest in monitoring and evaluation, with a desire to learn and contribute to the field
  • Research or M&E experience advantageous
