What Presidential International Scholarship of Excellence all about
The President’s International Scholarship of Excellence will be awarded to international high school applicants who are entering their first year of a four-year undergraduate degree program at York University and demonstrate academic excellence, commitment to volunteer work and extracurricular activities, and leadership skills. A minimum 80% (A) final admission average is required for consideration. Financial need may also be considered in the selection process.

Requirements for Presidential International Scholarship of Excellence at York University
To be eligible for consideration for the Major International Scholarships, you must satisfy ALL of the following requirements:
- You must be an international student who is obligated to obtain a Study Permit to pursue studies in Canada.
- You must have submitted an application for an undergraduate degree program at York University commencing in the Fall of 2023.
- You must have applied to York University directly from high school within two years of your graduation, and should not have any prior university or college coursework (with the exception of the Tentanda Via Award, where this criterion does not apply).
- You should possess an outstanding academic track record, maintaining a minimum “A” average or its equivalent.
- You must demonstrate leadership qualities through active involvement in community service or by achieving excellence in areas such as the arts, sports, or other individual accomplishments.
- You are required to upload a single letter of recommendation or any other relevant supporting documents as specified in the scholarship application guidelines.

Benefits of this scholarship
Selected candidates will benefit from the following.
- President’s International Scholarship of Excellence: $180,000 ($45,000 x 4 years)
- Tentanda Via Award: $120,000 ($30,000 x 4 years)
- Global Leader of Tomorrow Award: $80,000 ($20,000 x 4 years)
- All scholarships above are renewable for three years of full-time undergraduate study, provided high academic standing is maintained in each academic year.
