Minimum Required Qualification |
---|
- NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate) with English literacy or N2 in Engineering studies.
- Completed formal Learnership programme prior to obtaining an electrical artisan trade certificate as recognised by the MQA.
The Appointee should: |

- Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
- Clear security screening record.
- At least 3 years experience as an Electrical Artisan / Aide / Apprentice within a mining or plant environment.
Advantageous Qualifications: |

- N3 Electrical certificate.
- Foreman certificate will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities: |

The ARTISAN ELECTRICIAN is accountable for providing electrical services and support in the assigned operational area through effective maintenance and installation of electrical equipment and machinery.
The role is responsible for basic supervision such as team planning, controlling, co-ordinating and reporting activities. The role needs to ensure that team targets are achieved within a given functional system.
The role holder will supervise a team within prescribed procedures and standards and need to optimise the work outputs within these.
The role needs to ensure that the team adheres to safe work procedures when producing work outputs.
The role will be required to set priorities, schedule work and conduct basic administration duties.
The role holder’s efforts are focused on the quality of work.
The role will report to the Electrical Foreman.
Adhere to electrical maintenance, installation and construction of work place facilities to standards and specifications.
All electrical maintenance, installations and constructions to be inspected and checked for quality purposes.
Safe, correct and effective application of equipment and machinery utilised during duties.
Attending to electrical breakdowns.
Escalation of unresolved breakdowns or unsuccessful electrical maintenance, installation and constructions.
Adherence to document control standards and procedures.
Provisioning of data and information.
Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members.
Nominate team members for developmental training.
Ensure that all team members are adequately trained for assigned work.
