As the Program Manager, your pivotal role involves shaping, implementing, and maintaining a diverse array of in-person and online programs aligned with GYLC’s overarching objectives. This multifaceted responsibility includes developing program assessment tools, ensuring organizational benchmarks for satisfaction, quality, and performance, overseeing project teams and volunteers, and proficiently managing budgets and funding channels to optimize productivity.

Key responsibilities encompass collaborating closely with the CEO and program volunteers to strategize the scope, deliverables, resources, work plan, budget, and timing for GYLC’s innovative initiatives. You’ll be tasked with managing partnerships across government sectors, universities, funders, youth initiatives, and local and international organizations vested in youth leadership, climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience.

Moreover, your role will involve crafting proposals and supporting the CEO in business development, spearheading the creation of online green skills courses for youth in Africa and Asia, supervising GYLC Youth Climate Champions for their community projects funded across climate-vulnerable countries, and collaboratively organizing the annual Global Youth Climate Summit. Additionally, you’ll analyze, evaluate, and mitigate program risks, providing comprehensive reports for both management and funders.

The ideal candidate brings five or more years of managerial experience, preferably in program management, and excels in leadership, time management, facilitation, and organization. Demonstrated proficiency in managing stakeholders in an international work environment and a working knowledge of climate change, youth entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and proposal writing are essential.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or equivalent in environmental science/management or a related field, strong familiarity with the MS Office suite, previous experience in proposal writing, and a willingness to attend virtual meetings across different time zones and travel internationally.
